Kaspersky Total Security

BlogStomp is no longer our flagship blogging software, as we have replaced it with Storytailor.
We are still supporting the BlogStomp software and its users, but BlogStomp is no longer available for purchase. Learn more about Storytailor HERE.

You like to be safe online.  Smart move, we all should.  That’s why you selected Kaspersky Total Security for your antivirus security system.

But every once in a while somewhat annoying things can happen.  You download an app you’ve been hearing great things about, and are excited to load it and get to work.  But when you launch the app, Kaspersky pops up and labels it as a threat and disables or deleted the app.  A handful of BlogStomp and AlbumStomp users have reported similar situations* recently, so we wanted to address it here.

At StompSoftware, your online security is just as important to us as it is to you.  That’s why we safeguard our apps by performing rigorous virus scans on each new version before we allow any users to download it.  Protecting our apps protects you.

Kaspersky allows you to adjust its settings for applications you know are safe, and will allow you to configure your “Exclusions” rules and add BlogStomp and AlbumStomp to your “Trusted” zone.

To add BlogStomp as a trusted Application:

  1. 1. First Download and Install BlogStomp again.  Make sure it is not running before proceeding.
  2. 2. If BlogStomp.exe was flagged as Malware, it will need to be deleted from Quarantine.
  3. 3. Open this link and follow the steps to add an Application to your Trusted Applications http://support.kaspersky.com/11444
  4. 4. When choosing the Application to Trust, choose BlogStomp.exe KasperskyBlogStomp
  5. 5. When choosing the options, check all the checkboxes:KasperskyOptions
  6. 6. That should do it!

Once done, you should no longer see the troubles you’ve seen with Kaspersky in the past**, and you can get on to Stomping your little heart out.

: )

Happy Stomping!!

*Immediately following the first report of such occurrences we reached out to Kaspersky through their support system to ask them to review our apps and “whitelist” them.  Months (and dozens of attempts) later we are still waiting for a non-automated response from Kaspersky.

**However, Kaspersky updates their system regularly, so if you see these issues again, please let us know so we can research with you.
